(1.) Tersely, the relevant facts and material, which require to be noticed for the limited purpose of deciding the core controversy, involved in the instant petition and emanating from the record is that, in the wake of complaint of cimplainant-Vandana Thakur, daughter of Ramesh Chand, respondent No. 2 (for brevity "the complainant "), a criminal case was registered against the petitioner-accused, by means of FIR No. 6 13.09.2011 (Annexure P-1), for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323, 406, 498-A/34 IPC, by the police of Police Station Women Cell, Ludhiana.
(2.) After completion of the investigation, the police submitted the challan/final police report in terms of Sec. 173 Crimial P.C. Consequently, the petitioners-accused were accordingly charge-sheeted for the commission of the indicated offences by the trial court and the case was slated for evidence of the prosecution.
(3.) During the pendency of the criminal case, good sense prevailed and the parties have amicably settled their matrimonial disputes, by way of settlement dated 18.05.2012(Annexure P-2).
