JUDGEMENT

(1.) Petitioner has filed this revision petition under Section 401 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 challenging the order dated 06.10.2009 passed by the Appellate Court .

(2.) FIR No. 5 dated 2.1.1998 was registered under Sections 498A, 406 of the Indian Penal Code (for short IPC') at Police Station Central District Faridabad on the basis of the statement of the complainant-M.K.Dhar.

(3.) The case of the complainant,in brief, was that his daughter-Sunita was married to Sanjiv Kaul on 18.11.1996. At the time of marriage of his daughter, he had spent Rs. 2.5 lacs and had given sufficient dowry. After sometime of marriage, accused started maltreating his daughter on account of insufficient dowry. The gold ornaments given to his daughter were taken away by his mother-inlaw and sister-in-law and were never returned to his daughter. His daughter-Sunita alongwith her husband started residing in Faridabad in a rented house but the accused used to visit the said house and harass her daughter.
