GURDEV SINGH AND OTHERS Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Learned counsel for the State has filed affidavit of Mr.Joga Singh Sekhon, Superintendent District Jail, Sangrur, mentioning the period of imprisonment undergone by the applicant/appellant no.3-Rajan Singh @ Raj Singh. The same is taken on record.

(2.) Heard learned counsel for the parties.

(3.) The applicant/appellant no.3-Rajan Singh @ Raj Singh has been convicted by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Sangrur for the offence under Sec. 307 read with Sec. 34 IPC, besides, Sec. 27 of the Arms Act. He has been sentenced to undergo R.I. for a period of 5 years, besides, pay a fine of Rs.span 5,000.00 and in default thereof to undergo R.I. for two months for the offence under Sec. 307 read with Sec. 34 Penal Code. He has also been sentenced to undergo R.I. for three years, besides, pay a fine of Rs.span 5,000.00 and in default thereof to undergo R.I. for two months for the offence under Sec. 27 of the Arms Act. The said sentences of imprisonment have been ordered to run concurrently.
