JUDGEMENT

(1.) Learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer only for the release of the passport of the petitioner.

(2.) Reply filed on behalf of respondents No. 2 and 3 in Court today is taken on record. As per the said reply, the petitioner had applied for issuance of passport vide file No. O29460/2010 dated 22.09.2010 against his old passport No. S-7190970 dated 14.10.1982 issued at Consulate General of India, Dubai with the particulars as Bakshish Singh Chana son of Shri Kartar Singh, resident of VPO Tibba, District Kapurthala with date and place of birth as 05.08.1947/Tibba, Kapurthala respectively. However, the case was referred to SSP concerned for police verification. The police verification report vide letter No. 11091 P dated 10.10.2011 received from SSP Kapurthala marked as 'not recommended' with the remarks that a case FIR number stated above was registered against him and its appeal is pending before the Hon'ble High Court.
