JUDGEMENT

(1.) The present petition has been filed under Section 438 of Code of Criminal Procedure for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.13 dated 27.01.2011 under Section 498-A of Indian Penal Code, registered at Police Station City Faridkot, District Faridkot.

(2.) I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the whole record including the impugned order passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, Faridkot, dismissing the bail application filed on behalf of the petitioner.

(3.) Brief allegations are that marriage of sister of the complainant was solemnized with petitioner in March 1995. Sufficient amount was spent in the marriage by the parents of the complainant. However, after some time of the marriage, the husband started harassing her on account of dowry. There are also allegations of acts of physical violence upon the sister of the complainant. Further allegations are that petitioner used to remain out of the house without any information and in the year 2010, he remained in England or any other country i.e. from 13.12.2009 to 22.02.2010, 20.05.2010 to 01.06.2010, 29.06.2010 to 08.07.2010 and 19.08.2010 to 03.09.2010 without informing sister of the complainant.
