(1.) The petitioner was convicted by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sonepat, vide judgment dated 3.8.2010 in complaint / Case No.188/2 under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (for, short, "the Act") and was ordered to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of one year and was also ordered to compensate the complainant by paying double of the cheque amount i.e. Rs.2,54,000/-. Appeal preferred by the petitioner against the aforesaid judgment was dismissed.
(2.) The instant revision petition has been preferred against the afaoresaid orders on the ground that the petitioner has compromised with the respondent-complainant.
(3.) On 27.4.2012, following order was passed by this Court:- "Learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent No.1 has affirmed the compromise reached between the parties and has received a sum of Rs.1,27,000/-. Let an affidavit on behalf of respondent No.1 be filed to affirm the compromise on 7.5.2012. In the meantime, the petitioner may deposit the costs with the Punjab and Haryana High Court Legal Services Committee in terms of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Damodar S. Prabhu vs. Sayed Babalal H, 2010 2 RCR(Cri) 851."
