JEET RAM AND ORS Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB

JUDGEMENT

(1.) By this common order, four petitions, bearing Crl. Misc. M Nos.19621, 21271, 22814 and 28425 of 2011, preferred by Jeet Ram, Dwarka Dass, Darshan Singh and Satnam Singh, respectively, shall be decided together. All of them have been named as accused in case FIR No.34 dated 5.5.2011, registered at Police Station Kahnuwan, District Gurdaspur, under Sectiosn 409, 201, 120-B IPC.

(2.) Dwaraka Dass was posted as a Branch Manager of the Gurdaspur Central Cooperative Bank, Kahnuwan branch, whereas Jeet Ram was posted as Clerk-cum-Accountant, Darshan Singh as Clerk-cumAccountant and Satnam Singh as Peon in that branch.

(3.) Shri Harit Sharma, Counsel appearing for the complainant, has stated that employees of the Bank had committed a fraud of Rs.1,50,18,300/- for the period between 20.11.2003 to 26.6.2008. Counsel for the complainant contends that the modus operandi of the Bank officials was to identify those accounts which had become dead by non-operation.
