The contour of the facts and material, culminating in the commencement, relevant for disposal of the instant petition and emanating from the record is that, initially in the wake of complaint of complainant-Amanpreet Singh son of Balwant Singh, respondent No.2 (for brevity "the complainant"), a criminal case was registered against the petitioner-accused Manjit Singh, by virtue of FIR No.82 dated 02.06.2012(Annexure P-1), on accusation of having committed the offences punishable under Sections 341, 324, 323, 506, 148 and 149 IPC (the offence punishable under Section 326 IPC was added later on), by the police of Police Station Shimlapuri, Ludhiana.
(2.) During the course of investigation of the criminal case, good sense prevailed and the parties have amicably settled their disputes, by means of compromise-deed dated 11.09.2012(Annexure P-2).

Having compromised the matter, now the petitioner-accused has preferred the present petition, to quash the impugned FIR(Annexure P-1) and all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise, invoking the provisions of Section 482 Cr.P.C., inter alia, pleading that with the intervention of respectable of the locality, the parties have amicably settled their disputes vide compromise-deed (Annexure P-2). Both the parties are close relatives. Now they have no grudge against each other. They want to live in peace and maintain friendly relationship between them in future. The complainant has no objection if the present criminal case registered against the petitioneraccused by way of impugned FIR(Annexure P-1) is quashed. On the strength of aforesaid grounds, the petitioner-accused sought to quash the impugned FIR(Annexure P-1) and all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, in the manner described hereinabove.
