(1.) Petitioner has filed the present petition under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 seeking quashing of FIR No. 133 dated 20.06.2012, registered under Sections 406, 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 ('IPC' in short) at Police Station Phase-I, SAS Nagar, and all the subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise effected between the parties.
(2.) Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that now with the intervention of relatives and friends, parties have arrived at a compromise. The entire amount in question has been paid to respondent No. 2.
(3.) Jeeto Devi, mother of respondent No. 2 has appeared in person on the basis of power of attorney (Annexure P-2), executed in her favour by her son. Jeeto Devi has admitted the factum of compromise by her son with the petitioner and has stated that her son Harpreet Singh has received the amount in question and further stated that her son has no objection if the FIR in question is ordered to be quashed. Jeeto Devi has tendered her reply by way of an affidavit on record in this regard.
