JUDGEMENT

(1.) PRESENT petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of habeas corpus directing the respondent No. 4 -Gurmej Singh to release the detenue namely Baljit Kaur, who is alleged to be the wife of the petitioner.

(2.) IT is stated that Baljit Kaur has been confined in the illegal custody of her father, respondent No. 4, against her wishes.

(3.) BALJIT Kaur has stated before this Court that she is residing with her father according to her own accord and free will and intends to reside with him only. She has refuted the averments made in this petition with regard to her marriage with the petitioner.
