JUDGEMENT

(1.) This is an appeal directed by injured-claimant against the award dated 18.10.2008 passed by Sh. K.K. Kareer, Motor Accident Claims Tribunal, Amritsar, vide which the claim petition was partly accepted and a sum of Rs. 72,000/- was allowed on account of injuries sustained by her in a motor vehicular accident.

(2.) Claimant suffered 10% disability. She has spent Rs. 22,000/- on medicines, which was allowed by the Tribunal. Another sum of Rs. 20,000/- was allowed on account of permanent disability. Rs. 20,000/- was allowed on account of loss of income and Rs. 5,000/- was allowed on account of pain and suffering and Rs. 5,000/- was allowed on account of loss of amenities of life. The claimant has preferred the present appeal for enhancement of compensation.

(3.) Learned counsel for the appellant has submitted that amount of Rs. 5,000/- in respect of pain and suffering in the presence of fracture in right arm and right knee is on lower side. It is further contended that no amount in respect of transportation expenses and special diet has been allowed.
