The present criminal appeal has been preferred by Jaswant Singh @ Kala, who was nominated as an accused in case FIR No. 82 dated 07.06.2008, registered at Police Station Subhanpur, under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (hereinafter referred to as the "NDPS Act"). The learned Trial Court vide the impugned judgment dated 19.01.2012 found the appellant guilty of offence under Section 15 of NDPS Act and vide the order of even date, sentenced him to undergo RI for six months and to pay a fine of Rs5000/-, in default whereof, he was to undergo further RI for one month.
(2.) In the present appeal, challenge is to conviction pronounced and sentence awarded by the learned Trial Court upon the appellant Jaswant Singh @ Kala.
(3.) I need not dilate upon the facts of this case in detail as the same have already been recapitulated in the judgment of the learned Trial Court and in view of the ultimate prayer of the petitioner seeking reduction in sentence.
