GURPREET SINGH MEHAL Vs. SUDESH KUMARI AND ANOTHER

JUDGEMENT

(1.) This petition has been filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (Cr.P.C. for short) for quashing of order dated 25.10.2008 (Annexure P-1) passed by the trial Court and order dated 22.3.2012 (Annexure P-2) passed by the court of revision, whereby maintenance @ Rs. 500/- -per month was allowed to each of the respondent under Section 125 Cr.P.C.

(2.) After hearing learned counsel for the petitioner, I am of the opinion that the present petition deserves to be dismissed.

(3.) Case of the respondents, in their application under Section 125 Cr.P.C., in brief, was that Sudesh Kumari was married to Gurmeet Singh five years prior to filing of the application. They lived together as husband and wife and were blessed with a son namely Jashanpreet Singh Mehal- respondent No.2. Sudesh Kumari was harassed by her husband on account of insufficient dowry and a demand of Rs. 20,000/- was made by her husband and his family members.
