JUDGEMENT

(1.) The matter is taken up for hearing through video conference due to COVID-19 situation.

(2.) This criminal revision is filed against the order dated 15.1.2020, passed by Additional Sessions Judge, Patiala upholding the conviction of the petitioner under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (for short, 'the Act').

(3.) The complaint was filed as cheque for Rs.4,88,000/- issued by the petitioner to the complainant was dishonoured. As per the complaint, the cheque was issued for returning the loan taken by the petitioner. The petitioner was convicted on 25.1.2019 by Judicial Magistrate First Class, Rajpura. Aggrieved of conviction, appeal was filed, same was dismissed.
