JUDGEMENT

(1.) THIS is an application seeking regular bail in case FIR No. 4 dated 04.02.2011, under Sections 7, 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, registered at Police Station, Vigilance Bureau, Amritsar.

(2.) PETITIONER -accused was posted as Inspector in the PUNSUP. The complainant approached the accused -Petitioner for release of his outstanding amount of Rs. 4,39,810/ -. To release the payment in favour of the complainant, accused -Petitioner demanded bribe of Crl. Misc. No. M -8081 of 2011 Rs. 75,000/ -, which was ultimately settled for Rs. 70,000/ -. The complainant has made complaint to D.S.P., Vigilance Bureau, who arranged a trap. The Petitioner was caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs. 70,000/ -. His hands were also got washed in a solution water and its colour changed to pink.
