JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioner has approached this Court seeking direction to the respondents to restrain them from disconnecting his electricity connection. The grievance was that the additional security deposit was being demanded from the petitioner. The disconnection of the electricity connection of the petitioner was stayed subject to deposit of Rs. 30,000/- within 15 days of the date of the order.

(2.) Concededly, the petitioner had deposited this amount and has continued to have electricity connection at his Rice sheller. Subsequently, the petitioner has also deposited the full amount of Rs. 66,790/-, which is 50% of the full amount. Since the petitioner has deposited the requisite amount then there is no cause left for him to agitate. It may be that the petitioner had deposited this amount under protest but now the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed. There is no threat of disconnection. Respondents are directed not to disconnect the electricity connection of the petitioner to Rice sheller on account of present default.

(3.) The writ petition is, therefore, rendered infructuous and is disposed of as such.
