IQBAL MOHAMMAD Vs. STATE OF PUNJAB AND OTHERS

JUDGEMENT

(1.) PETITIONER Iqbal Mohammad is undergoing imprisonment passed qua FIR No. 163 registered on 5.9.2005 under Section 15 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. It is allegation against him that he was found in possession of 12 bags of poppy husk without any licence. For the above offence, vide order dated 26.7.2007, he was sentenced to undergo RI for a period of 12 years and to pay a fine of Rs. one lac.

(2.) IN this petition, it is stated that marriage of the petitioner's daughter is fixed on 10.12.2011. Notice of motion was issued on 30.11.2011. Today in Court verification report of SHO PS City -2, Malerkotla dated 4.12.2011 has been put on record, contents of which read thus:
