JUDGEMENT

(1.) This order shall dispose of three connected Civil Writ Petition Nos. 3037 of 1969, 3049 of 1969 and 3050 of 1969 under Articles 226 and 227 of the Constitution of India calling in question the legality and propriety of certain orders of Respondent Nos. 1 to 4 in each case passed, by them as Revenue Officers or Courts under the Punjab Security of Land Tenures Act, 1953 (Punjab Act No. 10 of 1953). This Act would hereinafter be referred to briefly as 'the Act' or where a section is mentioned without indicating the Act, the reference may be taken to be to sections of this Act.

(2.) The petitioner in all these cases is Smt. Dhan Kaur who is represented by her grandson and general attorney, Anand Singh. She is the owner of the land in dispute in all these cases and she can conveniently be referred to hereinafter in this judgment as 'the landowner' or 'the landlady' or simply as 'the petitioner'. The contesting-respondent (Respondent No. 5 in each case) is in possession of a part of he petitioner's land as a tenant and can be briefly referred to as 'the tenant(s)' or simply as 'the respondent(s)' hereinafter in this judgment.

(3.) During the pendency of this petition, or to be more specific at the stage of arguments, the respondent filed separate applications in each case for the criminal prosecution of the petitioner's general attorney, Anand Singh, on the ground that he had filed or sworn false affidavits in each case with the object of securing stay orders from this Court in the absence of the respondent(s). These three applications are also being disposed of together by this order.
