JUDGEMENT

(1.) Prayer under Section 482 Cr.PC is for directing the Police Authorities (respondents 1 to 11) in the States of Punjab and Haryana to protect the life and liberty of petitioners at the hands of private respondents 12 to 18.

(2.) It is alleged that petitioner no.1 and respondents 12,13 and 16 are engaged in the business of sale and purchase of diamonds. Petitioners, it is alleged, did not find the diamonds/gold supplied by respondents 12 to 16 upto the mark and hence discontinued business with them. It is further alleged that respondents 12 to 16 took a cash loan of Rs.13,60,000/- from petitioners by pledging diamond jewellery worth Rs.17,50,000/- which was returned by respondents and the pledged jewelry was also taken back on 6.11.2009. However, with an intention to cheat the petitioners, it is alleged that respondents 12 to 16 made various complaints to police authorities in the State of Punjab, which were duly inquired into and filed. It is alleged that respondents 12 to 16 by concealing the facts have registered a false FIR against the petitioners under Sections 406,420,120-B IPC at PS City Yamuna Nagar. It is also alleged that respondent no.13 has extorted huge amount from petitioners by extending threats to their life and liberty.

(3.) In these circumstances, prayer has been made to direct the police authorities to conduct a free and fair enquiry in the FIR registered against the petitioners as also to register an FIR against the respondents 12 to 16 for their misdeeds.
