JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Mr. Zakir Hussain, learned Amicus Curiae for the appellant and also heard Mr. T.K. Misra, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State of Assam.

(2.) This is an appeal directed against the judgment and sentenced order dated 18.07.2017 passed by the learned Sessions Judge, Jorhat in Sessions Case No. 177(J-J) of 2014 arising out of G.R. Case No. 680/2013 and Mariani P.S. Case No. 44/2013, wherein, the appellant was convicted of the offence under Section 302 of the IPC and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life with fine of Rs. 10,000/-, in default of which, to further undergo rigorous imprisonment for 6(six) months.
