JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Mr. B. Chetry, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. A.I. Ali, learned counsel for the Election Commission of India, Mr. J. Payeng, learned counsel for the State of Assam appearing for the Foreigners' Tribunal and Border Areas as well as Ms. G. Sarma, learned counsel for the authorities under the Union of India.

(2.) As required by the earlier order dated 13.03.2019, the Mr. Rakesh Reddy Superintendent of Police (Border) Dhemaji is personally present today.

(3.) The petitioner is aggrieved by the order dated 23.03.2018 of the Foreigners Tribunal, 2 nd Dhemaji at Silapathar in F.T.(D) Case No 2nd Dhemaji- 15/2017. By the order dated 23.03.2018, the petitioner was declared to be a foreigner who had entered the State of Assam after 25.03.1971. Being aggrieved, this writ petition has been preferred.
