(1.) As both petitions are related to the same subject matter they are taken together for hearing and are being disposed of by this common order.
(2.) Heard Mr R Ghosh, learned counsel for petitioner in criminal revision petition 470/2018 and Mr A Rahman, learned counsel for petitioners in criminal revision petition 466/2018 and Mr BJ Dutta, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State.

While naka checking was conducted on NH-31 in North Guwahati on 11.9.2018 at about 4:30 AM, on-duty police officers signaled to stop for checking 5 trucks bearing number HR-58/A-4764, BR-28/L-8173 and AS-17/B-6496 suspecting to be carrying stolen cattle. Out of five, two vehicles fled away and three were apprehended with drivers and handymen, wherein 85 cattle were found and the said cattle along with the trucks were seized as they could not produce any valid document. Chansari PS case 275/2018 u/s 379/353 of the IPC read with Section 11(a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960 was registered.
