RAMPRIT MISRA Vs. STATE (C.B.I.)

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Mr. B. Das, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. P.K. Biswas and Mr. D. Guha, advocates appearing for the petitioner and Mr. K.N. Bhattacharjee, learned Senior Central Government Standing Counsel assisted by Mr. S. Bhattacharjee and Mr. Ranjit Debnath, advocates appearing for the respondent. The Investigating Officer of the case Mr. S. Chakraborty, Inspector, C.B.I, is also present.

(2.) A bail application being Special Court Case No. 23 of 1995 was moved before the learned Special Judge, West Tripura, Agartala on behalf of the petitioner on 27.6.1995 and the learned Sessions Judge rejected the application for bail. On 28.6.1995 Mr. Das made a mention to take up this case and accordingly the case was taken up by publishing a supplementary list.

(3.) Considering the importance of the case, the case has been fixed today at 4.30 p.m. though normal court hours is upto 4:15 p.m.
