JUDGEMENT

(1.) The present Writ Appeal has been filed against the judgment of the learned Single Judge dated 15.11.56 in Civil Rule No. 2006/90.

(2.) The present Writ Appellants and several others prayed for a Writ of Mandamus to be issued to the respondents calling them to promote the petitioners with effect from 1.4.82 on the posts of Assistant Engineer, Oil and Natural Gas Commission.

(3.) We have heard Mr. N.M. Lahiri assisted by Mr. A.K. Goswami for the petitioners/appellants and Mr. D.K. Talukdar assisted by Mr. B.J. Talukdar for the Oil and Natural Gas Commission.
