JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Mr. I. Choudhury, learned Senior Counsel assisted by Mr. T. Das, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. K. Gogoi, learned Standing Counsel for the Higher Education Department and Mr. C. Baruah, learned Standing Counsel for the Accountant General, Assam.

(2.) The challenge made in these Writ Petitions is to the order dtd. 21/4/2017, issued by the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Higher Education (Technical) Department, whereby the lien granted to the petitioner, namely, Dr. Biswajit Sarma, Associate Professor in Geology Department, Jorhat Engineering College, Jorhat, for a period of one year vide order dtd. 25/6/2016, is terminated w.e.f. 27/6/2016, on completion of one year. The petitioner is also prayed for a direction to the respondent authorities to allow the petitioner to join in the post of Associate Professor (Geology) in Jorhat Engineering College, as per the joining report dtd. 25/4/2022.

(3.) As the issue involved in these two writ petitions are one and same, were heard analogously and disposed of by this common judgment and order.
