JUDGEMENT

(1.) HEARD Mr. R. Hazarika, learned counsel for the appellant and Mr. Pran Bora, learned counsel for the respondent.

(2.) WITH the consent of the parties, this appeal is heard finally. This is an appeal by the appellant -husband under Section 28 of the Family Courts Act against the judgment and decree dated 19.5.2012 passed by the District Judge, Jorhat in Title Suit (Marriage) No.46 of 2008.

(3.) SO the short question that arises for consideration in this appeal is - whether the learned District Judge was justified in allowing the petition filed by the respondent -wife for grant of permanent alimony of Rs.5 lakhs.
