JUDGEMENT

(1.) THIS is an appeal under Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 ( the Act ) directed against the order passed by the District Consumer Forum, Bilaspur (hereinafter referred to as the "District Forum" for brevity) on 6.6.2006 in complaint No. 64/2002.

(2.) THE District Forum allowing the complaint has directed the O.P. 1 to pay Rs. 30,000 as compensation with interest at 9% per annum from the date of complaint and Rs. 1,000 as cost of the complaint to the complainant.

(3.) COMPLAINANT has averred that the O.P. 1 is a coloniser builder and developer who developed Geetanjli Nagar, Phase II. Complainant contacted the O.P. 1 regarding the colony and construction of a house. Complainant was informed through a brochure that the O.P. 1 will provide wide, WBM road, and drains, community water supply and also instal a transformer. It is averred that the complainant also paid the necessary amount towards cost of land and construction.
