JNU MEDICAL SCIENCE Vs. STATE OF MANIPUR

JUDGEMENT

(1.) This Public Interest Litigation is based on the news report that a number of operation theatres at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Science (JNIMS) is not properly maintained and it is not functional. The newspaper item highlighted various deficiencies. On that basis, this Public Interest Litigation was registered and taken up and notice was ordered to the State and a reply affidavit has been by the respondent NO.2.

(2.) Para Nos.2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5 and 3 of the reply affidavit read as follows:-

That with reference to Para No. 3 to 6 of the PIL, the answering deponent begs to state that the State Government is providing free medical test in respect of 57 (fifty seven) types of test in all the Government Hospital including JNIMS existing in the State of Manipur. Therefore, in case if any of the employees/staff are found to have refused to conduct such types of medical test, necessary action will be taken up against such official.
