JUDGEMENT

(1.) The prayer No.2, which is raised in this PIL, is the construction of approach road to Tamenglong District Hospital.

(2.) Tamenglong district is a hill district and the quality of road facilities in and around Tamenglong is very poor and therefore, it is difficult for the people in the normal works of life. They are facing serious problem in terms of transportation and at times of medical emergency.

(3.) Learned Advocate General taking notice in the matter, on instruction, states that after creation of new districts, special impetus will be given for providing roads to newly formed districts and in particular, to Tamenglong District because it is a hill district with poor road connectivity. The State Government will endeavour to provide roads, hospital facilities, access to medical aid, etc. in a time bound manner and without discrimination between one hill district and another.
