(1.) Heard Mr. M. Hemchandra, learned senior counsel assisted by Mr. Th.Roson, learned counsel for the petitioners in W.P.(C) No.635 of 2016 and W.P(C) No.948 of 2016. (2.) All these writ petitions are taken up together and disposed of by this Common judgment and order in view of the commonality of the facts and issues involved.

(3.) A brief narration of facts would be apposite. The Director General of Police, Manipur issued a notification/requisition dated 10.1.13 for appointment of 2000 posts of Police constables (Male/Civil), which was duly publicised.
