JUDGEMENT

(1.) HEARD Mr. Ch. Robinchandra, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mrs. Th. Sobhana, learned Addl. G.A appearing for the respondents No. 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as Mr. C. Komol, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent No.5.

THE present writ petition has been filed for giving a direction to the respondents concerned for grant of life -time arrears of family pension to the petitioner which was entitled to her deceased mother, late, Soyam(Ongbi) Leima Devi, W/O late Soyam Jugol Singh, who was serving as Forest Guard in the Department of Forests, Government of Manipur.

(3.) IN this regard, the Government of India had issued an Office Memorandum dated 18.06.1985 for grant of Family Pension to Families of Government Employees who retired or died before 1.1.1964 or are otherwise not covered by the Family Pension Scheme of 1964. As per the aforesaid Office Memorandum dated 18.06.1985 it has been provided, inter alia, as follows.
