(2.) By the instant writ petition, the petitioners have prayed for issuing a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ to direct the respondents to pay compensation of Rs.1,36,00,000.00 with 12% interest from the date of the incident.
(3.) According to the petitioners, the petitioner No. 2 is the mother of the minor victim girl, the petitioner No. 1. On 6/2/2019 at about 11:30 am while she was playing with her friends, the petitioner No.1 came in contact with the unfenced electric transformer installed mounted much less than one feet above the ground which was installed near the house of the petitioner No.1. Immediately after the incident, the petitioner No.1 was admitted at Jivan Hospital where she was given treatment as an outpatient and was later referred to RIMS hospital on 7/2/2019. When the condition of the burn injuries became worse and the doctors came to the conclusion that unless her right hand was amputated, her entire body would be affected and accordingly, the petitioner No. 1's right hand was amputated on 21/2/2019 at RIMS hospital, Imphal. As per the opinion of the doctor, the petitioner received 60% burn injuries all over her body with high mortality and she could lose both her hands, if the burned condition is beyond curable treatment. During the course of hospitalisation, the family of the petitioners had incurred expenses amounting to Rs.1.5 lakhs towards medicines, taxi charges, attendant charges, special diet etc.
