JUDGEMENT

(1.) This appeal is directed against a judgment and order dated June 11, 1997 passed in C.O. No. 8575 (W)/96 whereby and where under the writ application filed by the petitioner had been allowed.

(2.) The fact of the matter lies in a very narrow compass.

(3.) The petitioner was appointed as Junior Teacher in the Education Department of the Durgapur Steel Plant by a letter dated March 9, 1964. The petitioner's grievance was that she had not been promoted as a Head Teacher to which she was entitled to. She was charge-sheeted in terms of a letter dated November 22, 1993 and was also placed under suspension. The said letter is contained in Annexure 'C' to the writ application. By a letter dated November 22, 1993 the petitioner was informed that she had committed the following misconduct :
