JUDGEMENT

(1.) This is an application under Sec. 491 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for a writ in the nature of habeas corpus against the detention of Paritosh Kumar Basak under Sub -section (2) of Sec. 3 of the Preventive Detention Act, 1950.

(2.) It appears that the detenu, Paritosh Kumar Basak, is being detained on the basis of an order of detention made by the District Magistrate, Nadia, on February 5, 1968, under Sec. 3(2) of the Preventive Detention Act, 1950. The order is set out below:

(3.) The detenu was furnished with the grounds of his detention. Mr. Chatterjee submits that some of the grounds are vague and the detenu was deprived of his constitutional right to make an effective representation against his detention. The grounds are as follows:
