JUDGEMENT

(1.) Despite direction, no affidavit - in -opposition has been filed by the State respondents.

(2.) The petitioner has challenged an order dated January 13/18, 2012, by which the Director of School Education, Government of West Bengal i.e. the respondent No. 3 herein regretted his inability to accede to the proposal sent by the Additional District Inspector of Schools (SE), Paschirn Medinipur i.e. the respondent No. 5 herein, as the petitioner had failed to exercise the revised option in terms of an Government Order, dated October 29, 2002.

(3.) The petitioner was an approved Assistant Teacher of Bandeuli Junior High School (the school, for short) The school was subsequently upgraded as a high school. The petitioner joined in the year 1981 and by an order, dated April 21, 1982, his appointment was approved on condition that he would have to undergo Post Graduate Basic Training (P.G.B.T) as early as possible. He completed the said course in the year 1986, i.e., within the five years from the date of his joining, which was the requirement at the time of his, joining the school.
