JUDGEMENT

(1.) This writ application is directed against the refusal of the Customs authorities to allow clearance of consignment of split cassia imported by the petitioners. Clearance has not been permitted on the ground that the consignments do not conform to the standards prescribed under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

(2.) The consignments have thrice been tested. The reports are annexed to the writ petition.

(3.) First report is of Mitra S.K. Pvt. Ltd. The sample was found not to be in conformity with the standards, there being excessive moisture and growth of mould.
