JUDGEMENT

(1.) This is an application under Article 227 of the Constitution of India against the judgement and order dated December, 29, 2011 passed by the learned District Judge at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, in Matrimonial Suit No.60 of 2008.

(2.) By the order impugned, the learned District Judge allowed an application filed by the defendant-wife under section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955, in part.

(3.) Learned District Judge directed the husband to pay Rs. 700/- (Rupees seven hundred) only per month as alimony pendente lite to wife. The husband was, further, directed to pay Rs. 1000/- (Rupees one thousand) only as expenses of the proceedings.
