JUDGEMENT

(1.) The application for addition of party is allowed in terms of prayer (i) to the said application.

(2.) In this writ petition purporting to be public interest litigation,the petitioners have prayed for the following substantive relief:-

For appointment to the posts of teachers in primary schools, under the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (Recognition of Primary Teachers' Training Institute) Regulation, 2002, the State Government had granted recognition to various institutes except the institutes which had already been recognised by the National Council under the National Council for Teachers Education Act, 1993 (hereinafter referred to as NCTE). Prior to 2002, the matter was governed by the provisions of West Bengal Primary Education Act, 1973.
