JUDGEMENT

(1.) Petitioner has made a grievance about the Municipal Corporation of Agartala not granting permission to the petitioner to hold an Expo Fair at Children's Park between 30.12.2019 to 02.02.2020. According to the petitioner he has obtained all necessary permissions from the State authorities. He thereafter applied to the Agartala Municipal Corporation for giving said plot on rent. He required 40,000/- sq. ft. for his purpose. He was prepared to pay the rent at the prescribed rate. The municipal authorities however, rejected his request by the communication dated 19.11.2019 which reads as under:

For allotment of space for 65,000 sq. ft for the period 30/12/2019 to 27/01/2020 rent calculated Rs.4,71,250/- against application of Shri Sujit Roy General Secretary, All Tripura Merchant Association, on the other hand allotment of space for 40,000 sq. ft for the period 30/12/2019 to 02/02/2020 rent calculated Rs.3,50,000/- against application of Shri Suman Banik, GC Siddhivinayak Events.

(3.) Children's Park is under control of Agartala Municipal Corporation and Agartala Municipal Corporation is appropriate authority decided to allot the space in favour of Shri Sujit Roy, All Tripura Merchant Association, and application of Shri Suman Banik, GC Siddhivinayak Events is rejected."
