(1.) . With the consent of learned counsel for the rival parties, matter is heard finally.

The instant writ petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226 of Constitution of India challenging the order dtd. 24/02/2015 (Annexure P/1) passed by the respondent No.1, whereby, application for grant of pistol/revolver license to the petitioner has been rejected on the ground that since there is no threat to the petitioner from any person or group of persons, he is not entitled for grant of said license under the New Arms Policy of the State Government. The proposal being unjustified and unsatisfactory stands rejected.
(3.) It is the case of the petitioner that he, being a practicing advocate, is in need of self-protection, for which an arms license is required, as he has an apprehension that someone may cause harm to him.
