JUDGEMENT

(1.) SHRI Jain submits that the State Government has taken effective steps for rescuing the persons who were in Uttarakhand. It is submitted that till date as per information collected, 2836 persons had gone to Uttarakhand, out of them, 1193 have returned to their home. In respect of 707 persons, there is no information about their whereabouts. It is also submitted by them that information is still awaited from various places and this is the information which was collected till yesterday. It is also submitted that under the leadership of Hon'ble Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, various officers have been deployed at various places. Out of the officers who have been deployed, one IAS Officer Shri Sanjay Goyal and one IPS Officer Shri R.S.Rathore are also there who are taking care of all the affairs. It is submitted that at various places, medical camps have been established which are providing the facilities not only to the persons of Madhya Pradesh but also from other States and as per information, nearabout 8000 persons have visited those medical camps. It is submitted that 3 Helicopters from Madhya Pradesh have been sent for rescue operations. However, aforesaid helicopters have taken over by the military as entire rescue operations at present are under the control of military personnels. It is submitted that the State is trying to locate all the persons who are not traceable. The State is also trying to get complete information in respect of the persons who had gone to Uttarakhand and have not returned till date. It is submitted that very soon the complete information shall be furnished before this Court. It is also submitted that the persons who are brought to the camps are being sent back to their respective places and if any medical assistant is required, that is also being provided to all the persons.

FROM the perusal of the chart filed by the State alongwith reply, which is at page 10 of the reply, it appears that still 707 persons are missing and the State owes responsibility to trace out aforesaid persons from Uttarakhand areas. Apart from this, State is under an obligation to collect the entire information from whole of the State that how many persons are missing who had visited Uttarakhand. Aforesaid information be collected by the State and complete information in this regard be furnished before this Court on the next date of hearing. It is assured by Shri R.D.Jain, learned Advocate General that aforesaid officers shall continue to remain at various places in Uttarakhand to extend all sort of help to the effected persons.

AT this stage, it is submitted by Shri Jain that an identical matter which has been filed at Gwalior is also listed for hearing today and the present matter may be heard alongwith that matter at Jabalpur. This aspect will be considered on the next date of hearing. State is also directed to file complete report, in brief, before this Court, so that the fact may be ascertained that the State is still active in extending all types of help to the effected persons at Uttarakhand.
