(1.) HEARD finally.
(2.) THE petitioner raises grievance against the order of the learned Single Judge dated 3.7.2000 passed in WP No. 3187/2000. The appellant Society was registered in the name and style 'Indian Press Council'.
(3.) WE have considered the matter. We find the direction of the Registrar under the M.P. Society Registrikaran Adhiniyam, 1973, is absolutely correct. The name of the appellant Society is likely to confuse the public with 'Press Council of India'. With a view to avoid this confusion , the amendment has been sought. Section 6(2)(b)(iii) of the M.P. Societies Registrikaran Adhiniyam, 1973, is clearly attracted in this case, therefore, the order impugned is sustainable and is hereby confirmed. Consequently, there is no merit in this appeal and the same is dismissed
