(1.) These two Writ Petitions raise same common questions, and they are deposed of together.
(2.) All the petitioners iu each of these cases have been appointed on an ad hoc basis in the service of Sri Venkateswara University, the firs; respondent.
(3.) In W.P.No. 7351 of 1988, there are 99 petitioners, who have all been appointed and Man Mazdoor/casual woman Mazdoor. The petitioners have been working from various dates ranging from 1982 onwards as per the Annexure appended to the Writ Petition. The petitioners are each being paid at the rate of Rs. 13.75 paise per day. Alt of them have worked for more than 240 days and they claimed ihe benefit of the Industrial Disputes Act, and in particular, Section 25-F thereof so far as the proposed termination of their services are concerned. They also claim salary, on the basis of the principle of "equal pay-for equal work"and claim Rs. 740/- per month on par with regular attenders. In the writ petition they stated that they are performing the same functions and duties as the regular attenders. The relief claimed is for the issue of Writ of Mandamus, directing the University to pay the scale of pay on par with Attenders appointed on regular basis and also for regulation of their services as Attenders.
