Osmania University And Ors. Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Sri C.V.R. Rudra Prasad, learned Counsel for petitioner and Sri S. Sri Ram, learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent. The petitioner is a student of Bachelor of Engineering 4 years course in the branch of Information Technology in 2nd respondent institution.

(2.) On 6.7.2015, the 2nd respondent issued a notification informing the scheme of practical examination for all B.E. Courses of 1st semester for July, 2015. The practical examinations were scheduled on 9.7.2015 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Unfortunately, practical examinations for B.E. Lab (2/4) and I.T. Workshop (2/4) were both scheduled on the same day at the same time, instead of at different times on the same day, or on different dates.

(3.) Since the petitioner could not be physically present to undergo the practical examinations at the same time on the same day in both those subjects, she attended practical of B.E. Lab and could not attend the practical examination for I.T. Workshop. She then approached the 2nd respondent by way of representation on 8.9.2015 complaining of the clash between the practical examinations of both the above subjects and requesting the 2nd respondent to re -conduct the I.T. Workshop examination on a different date. This was in fact recommended by the Head of the Department of I.T. and A.I. Department and others.
