SUMANT K. PAVEKAR Appellant
V/S
VASANTI SUMANT PAVEKAR Respondents

JUDGEMENT

(1.) This is an appeal against the rejection of a petition filed by the husband for divorce on the ground that the wife is guilty of cruelty.

(2.) The complaints which he has made in his petition of the behaviour of his wife are that the wife used to quarrel with the petitioner, not to do any work properly in the house, the quarrel with the petitioner's relations and behave in such a manner that the petitioner was cut off from his family relations and others. Their used to be constant quarrels between the petitioner and the wife and also between the wife and the petitioner's parents. Tired of these quarrels, the petitioner changed his residence along with the wife, but there, the respondent wife used to quarrel with the neighbours, not keep the house clean and not serve him food and also quarrel with the petitioner with the result that the petitioner was not able to concentrate upon his work and suffered mental ill health and had to he treated by a psychiatrist.

(3.) That this affected his physical health also. The petitioner moved from place to place He was also, at the instance of the wife, staying with his mother-in-law, where his complaint was that the wife treated him as a maid servant and had no significance in the house at all. He has narrated an incident in that behalf when he was driven out of the bed. His contention seems to be that there was little sexual life between them at that place.
