JUDGEMENT

(1.) Learned APP has tendered the petitioners' Medical Report, pursuant to our order dated 13 th June, 2023. A perusal of the said Medical Report shows that the petitioner has past history of Ischemic Heart Disease with Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus. It also appears that he has internal and external haemorrides left eye cataract, and that angioplasty was done in 2015. Under the caption of 'clinical diagnosis', it is stated as under;

(2.) We, vide our order dated 13 th June, 2023, had directed the jail authorities to do the petitioner's blood tests i.e. HbA1c, fasting blood sugar, P.P. sugar, and lipid profile tests. Fasting blood sugar was done on 19/6/2023. On that day, the petitioner's fasting blood sugar was 415. Thereafter, we are informed that he was put on insulin. Today's report shows that his fasting blood sugar is 133 and PP blood sugar is 223. As far as HbA1c is concerned, it is stated to be 11.50. His BP reading shown in the report is 123/64. In the report dtd. 15/6/2023 of the Chief Medical Officer, Mumbai Central Prison, Mumbai, the health status of the petitioner, is stated as under;

(3.) Considering his fluctuating blood sugar parameters, learned APP, on instructions, states that the petitioner will be admitted to J.J.Hospital in the Prisoner's Ward, today or latest by tomorrow. Statement accepted.
