SAIJU VARGHIS Vs. STATE

JUDGEMENT

(1.) These two applications are filed by the accused persons, who are facing prosecution in pursuance of FIR No.111/2021 dtd. 28/7/2021 registered at the Ponda Police Station, South Goa, for offence under Ss. 376(D) and 506(ii) read with Sec. 34 of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

(2.) The Applicant stood arrested on the date when the FIR was registered i.e. 28/7/2021. They have remained behind bars since then. Their applications for grant of bail were rejected by the Sessions Court.

(3.) Mr. Bhobe, learned Counsel has appeared on behalf of the Applicants while Mr. Pravin Faldessai, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, has appeared on behalf of Respondent-State.
