JUDGEMENT

(1.) Heard Sri Sumit Kakkar, learned counsel holding brief of Sri S.K. Kakkar, who appears for the appellant-Insurance Company and Sri Ram Singh, appearing for the claimant respondent no. 1.

(2.) Respondent no. 2 is represented but has chosen not to appear.

(3.) The appeal is directed against the judgment and order dated 20.01.2005 passed by the Motor Accidents Claims Tribunal, whereby a sum of Rs.5,52,000.00 has been awarded to the claimant-respondent with 5% interest per annum from the date of filing the written statement.
