JUDGEMENT

(1.) The petitioners have sought the quashing of the notification dated 8 Aug. 2013 that was issued under Sec. 4(1) of the Land acquisition Act, 18941 as also the declaration that was made under Sec. 6 of the Act on 16 Oct. 2014. The petitioners have also assailed the award made under Sec. 11 of the Act on 22 Oct. 2016.

(2.) The notification issued under Sec. 4(1) of the Act was published in the Gazzette on 17 Aug. 2013 and in the two newspapers on 15 Oct. 2013. Public notice of the substance of the notification was caused on 17 Oct. 2013. The declaration under Sec. 6 of the Act was published in the Gazette on 16 Oct. 2014 and in the two newspapers on 22 Oct. 2014. Public notice of the declaration made under Sec. 6 of the Act was caused on 16 Oct. 2014.

(3.) It needs to be stated that the notification issued under Sec. 4 (1) of the Act provided opportunity to any person interested in the land to file objections within 21 days. The objections filed by the 1 the Act petitioners and the other tenure holders were rejected and thereafter, the declaration was made under Sec. 6 of the Act. The award was also subsequently made on 22 Oct. 2016.
