JUDGEMENT

(1.) ALL the above writ petitions involve common questions, therefore, they were clubbed and heard together and are now being decided by a common judgment. Writ Petition No.1326 of 2014 (SB), State of U.P. and anr. v. Virendra Pratap Singh and anr., has been heard as the leading writ petition.

(2.) HEARD the learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel for the petitioner -State and the learned counsel for the private respondent.

(3.) BY means of this writ petition the State of U.P. has challenged the judgment passed by the U.P. State Public Services Tribunal in the claim petition filed by the private respondents claiming his promotion to the post of Assistant Engineer (Civil) with effect from 1993 -94 with all consequential benefits on the ground that the persons, junior to him, namely Sri Manik Chand and Sri Prem Pal Singh were promoted with effect from the said year, whereas he was promoted with effect from 1998 -99.
